As a responsible retailer SMC cares about the environment we live in. The problem is getting bigger: Electrical waste is increasing 5% per year and is the fastest growing waste stream in the UK.

What is smc doing?
As part of the Government WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) regulations, smc has made financial investment to increase recycling rates of electrical goods in our area.

This investment has been used towards the development and upgrade of 'Designated Collection facilities' (DCFs}. From July 1st 2007 you will be able to return any old electrical item you have for recycling free of charge.

Where can I recycle?
The www.recycle-more.co.uk website allows you to enter your postcode and you will then be directed to your nearest DCF.

Recycling tips
From now on all new electrical products that can be recycled will carry the 'crossed out wheelie bin' to help you remember to recycle them.
